Kristin Seefeldt

Kristin Seefeldt talks about how poor quality jobs, the decline of housing markets. And low performing schools affects poor and working class families. She also talks about social isolation’s affects on the African American community and how that very same segregation can stop them from ascending in class.

If we improve low-performing schools that will help children and teens in those school to get a better chance of finding jobs later in life. With the education it will provide them with higher quality jobs instead of low-quality jobs that they have now. By increasing the quality of their jobs then they will be able to move out of residential segregated neighborhoods.

The thing that is relevant in the reports is how all of these things like jobs, housing, and education is connected. What I found interesting and informative was the fact that social isolation can still occur and have great affects in this day and age where social media (connection) is so prevalent in our daily lives. I think that if we can look past race and social class, we can have a more productive and inclusive society.

  1. I think it all starts with education. If we can make sure everyone gets the same proper education than it will increase everyone's chances to be successful in life.
